Blue Embrace is a mixed-media artwork from the series ‘Pink Means Family’ and the final painting in the series.

Although only subtle traces of pink remain, the work continues the series’ exploration of belonging, emotional safety, and the feeling of being held. Dark, sweeping structures form an embracing shape around a luminous inner space, creating a tension between protection, vulnerability, and openness.

For the first time, texture fibers were used to build pronounced three-dimensional structures into the surface, giving the painting a sculptural quality that changes with the light. Depending on the viewer, the composition may evoke a vessel, a flower, a womb, or an open embrace.

For the artist, Blue Embrace represents Geborgenheit - the deeply human feeling of being safe, sheltered, and emotionally held, especially in moments when life feels heavier.
